The Biggest Win Ever

We just evoked the young man who got the biggest win ever. It was back in 2003 and he won the jackpot of the annual Megabucks Jackpot. While he was playing a Megabucks slot machine at the Excalibur Casino in Las Vegas, the 25 year-old software engineer hit the $39.7 million progressive jackpot and took home the largest single-person payout in casino history. He only bet $100… That’s a very good deal! You might want to know his name. Well, no one knows as he decided to stay anonymous. The only other information we have is that he’s from Los Angeles. To this day, he is the youngest person ever to win a multimillion-dollar jackpot at a Las Vegas casino.

The Unique Twice Casino Winner

Elmer Sherwin’s story is a tremendous one. Sherwin achieved the incredible feat of winning two multi-million dollar jackpots at the same casino. He was a 76 year-old war veteran when he won his first jackpot in 1989. He pocketed not less than $4.6 million at the Mirage in Las Vegas in 1989 and then won a second jackpot of $21 million at the same casino in 2005 at the same slot machine! Sherwin was born in 1916 in Texas and served in the US Navy during World War II. After the war, he moved to the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas and worked as a simple carpenter and electrician.

One of his hobbies (as many people’s hobby in Las Vegas) was to go gambling in one of the numerous city’s casinos. By luck, he won the the phenomenal $4.6 million sum. He spent his winnings on his family and traveling the world. But Sherwin’s luck was tightly grabbed to him. In 2005, he returned to the Mirage to play at the same slot machine. This time, he won an even bigger jackpot of $21 million on the Megabucks machine. After his second win, he told reporters back then that he had been playing the same machine since his first win in 1989. The veteran was passionate by gambling and he was known to be very generous with his money. He donated to charities and causes he believed in. Sherwin finally passed away in 2009 at the age of 92 enjoying until the end his luck until the last breath.

The Magician That Plays Tricks

In the Poker world, everyone knows about Antonio Esfandiari. He’s also famous under the name of The Magician as he used to be a former magician. The young player made history in 2012 when he won the World Series of Poker Big One for One Drop event. The Big One for One Drop was a historic event, with a $1 million buy-in and a $18.3 million prize pool. He pocketed the money and no one has broken his record yet.

These stories are only three of numerous others. They’re here to bring you stars in the eyes and remind you of two things. First, casino entertainment is mostly a game of chance. You don’t need to be privileged or rich to get lucky and win the jackpot. Second, you need to make your brain work a lot if you want to become the next memorable poker player. In all cases, you have to enjoy your time and have fun.
